Built by someone who's been on both sides of the table.
About Reboot Inc. We build and run the website that gets local businesses recommended by Google, ChatGPT, and other AI.
TL;DR: Ian Ho is the founder. Former eBay technical architect and CMO. Reboot builds a local business website (from $499, live in 7 days) and then keeps it optimized every month so AI and search recommend you. Be the business customers find first.
Decades in technology. A career pivot into marketing. Years running a marketing agency. The question that started Reboot: why does a good website cost so much and take so long?
An agency owner's honest answer to an uncomfortable question.
My name is Ian Ho. I left eBay as a technical architect to cross into marketing, a move nobody around me understood at the time. Over the next several years I worked as CMO and Fractional CMO across a range of companies, then ran my own marketing agency serving local businesses.
The agency did good work. Clients got results. But the process was slow, expensive, and required a team. Most local businesses couldn't afford it. The electrician, the dog groomer, the plumber with a truck and a phone number.
The cheaper alternatives produced websites that looked fine but generated no leads. Built by people who understood design but not search, or search but not how customers actually decide.
The uncomfortable question: does it have to be this way? After years of iteration, the answer was no. With the right process and modern tooling, a website built for real lead generation (one that ranks on Google and gets recommended by AI) can be delivered in a week at a price any local business can afford, then kept optimized every month so it keeps working as AI search changes. That is Reboot.
My principle"If your phone isn't ringing, your website is the cheapest, fastest thing to fix."
Most websites fail because they were built by people who understand one side, not both.
Most web shops understand one side. Reboot is built on both. The technical foundation determines whether a site ranks. The marketing background determines whether visitors convert. Both shape every site we build.
Built to work, not just to look good.
As a technical architect at eBay, I built systems that had to perform at a scale most businesses never approach. That background informs how every Reboot site is structured: fast load times, clean markup, proper schema, mobile-first foundations. These are the things that actually determine whether Google ranks you or ignores you.
- →Technical architect, eBay
- →Computer Science degree, Monash University
- →Built SafePrompt (production AI security SaaS with live paying customers)
Designed for customers, not for awards.
After eBay, I spent years as a CMO and Fractional CMO, responsible for what marketing actually produces, not just what it looks like. Every Reboot site is built around the same question I ask: does this generate a lead? The copy, the structure, the SEO and AI search visibility strategy are all oriented toward one outcome.
- →CMO and Fractional CMO, multiple companies
- →Marketing agency founder
- →Clients named across AI search engines on brand queries
You get a website built by someone who has done both jobs.
Technically correct from day one.
No patching bad foundations later. Schema, site speed, clean markup, and mobile performance are built in, not bolted on after someone complains it doesn't rank.
Structured to generate leads, not just traffic.
Copy written to convert. Built so AI assistants recommend you by name. Local SEO structure so the right customers find you when they search.
Maintained by a team that builds systems.
Update requests handled without email chains. Monthly clients track rankings and lead volume. Built to run consistently, not dependent on chasing an agency for a status update.
AI search visibility isn't a buzzword. It's the next decade of local search.
When your customer asks ChatGPT "best plumber in Phoenix" or asks Claude "who does solar cleaning in Las Vegas," some business comes back as the answer. That business didn't get there by accident.
Local businesses we work with go from invisible to named across AI search engines, often in markets where bigger competitors are not. Not because of paid placement, but because every site is built the right way from the start. Results vary by market and query, measured monthly.
US Kuo Shu Academy, Maryland
- #1 Google for "best kung fu Maryland"
- Named across AI engines on brand queries
- Strongest on Perplexity and Google
Total Solar Cleaning, Bay Area CA
- Appears in AI search results for Bay Area solar-cleaning queries
- #1 Google for "how much does solar panel cleaning cost in the Bay Area"
AI visibility measured monthly across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Results vary by market and query type.
